Makeup is a wonderful thing. It’s fun to apply and can give you a feeling of empowerment. Yet women all over are constantly ridiculed and put down for wearing what some might think is too much makeup, otherwise known as cake face. I myself love wearing makeup whether its a light natural look or a full face. But makeup can be tricky and confusing to apply for some, so here are some tips to help you perfect your cake face.

  1. Match your foundation to your neck, not your face. The skin on your face is often a few shades lighter than the skin on your neck. This way you will not be able to tell where your foundation ends.
  2.  Use complementary colors on your eyes to make them pop. For example, use blue if you have brown eyes and rusty orange colors if you have blue eyes.
  3. Use a small piece of scotch tape around your eyes to get a perfect winged liner or sharp shadow.
  4. Always apply contour and blush in soft circular motions, this will help it blend into your foundation better without any harsh lines.
  5. When finished applying your makeup, use a setting spray to lock in your makeup and give your skin a hydrating glow.
